Project Type: Health Innovation & Conceptual Project · Status: Conceptual Business-Plan Scenario · Not Implemented · Year: 2020 · Team: Mahya Moshtagh, Mohammad Hossein Mohammadi, Seyed Hamid Shahidi
A conceptual, team-developed business-plan scenario proposing the idea of AI-assisted COVID-19 detection from chest CT images, developed for an academic entrepreneurship competition.
Overview
This item is a conceptual, team-developed project proposing the idea of using artificial intelligence to assist in detecting COVID-19 from chest CT images. It was developed as an academic business-plan scenario for an entrepreneurship-focused student competition, not as a technical or clinical project. No artificial intelligence model, software, or diagnostic tool was built, tested, or deployed as part of this work.
Concept Description
The concept outlined a proposed scenario in which AI-based image analysis could, in principle, support clinicians in reviewing chest CT images for signs consistent with COVID-19, framed as a health-innovation business idea rather than a technical specification. The proposal addressed the idea’s rationale and potential value at a conceptual level, without a working system, algorithm, dataset, or validated methodology behind it.
Academic & Entrepreneurship Context
The concept was developed and submitted as part of the 12th National Scientific Olympiad for Medical Sciences Students (2020), within its entrepreneurship-focused component. The team’s submission passed through the first and second stages of the competition process. This context is presented here as academic competition participation, not as an award, formal ranking, or validation of any technology.
My Contribution
Mahya Moshtagh was a project contributor, assigned the role of Executive Manager within the academic business-plan scenario. This role related to team coordination and business-plan development within the competition exercise, not to the execution of any technical, clinical, or software-development work.
Team & Roles
This was a collaborative, team-based submission developed together with Mohammad Hossein Mohammadi and Seyed Hamid Shahidi. It is presented here as team-based academic work rather than an individually authored project.
Status & Limitations
No AI model, software, algorithm, or prototype was created, trained, or tested as part of this project. No clinical data were analyzed, and no diagnostic tool was built or deployed. The concept was not implemented beyond the academic competition scenario, and no results, clinical outcomes, or performance metrics exist to report.
