Academic Profile
Mahya Moshtagh is a Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduate from Alborz University of Medical Sciences and a Registered Nurse in Iran. Her clinical background spans several high-acuity hospital settings, including emergency, intensive care, neonatal intensive care and perioperative recovery, where she developed a close, practical understanding of patient care under pressure. Alongside clinical practice, she has built experience in quantitative and survey-based health research, including questionnaire-based data collection, SPSS analysis and scientific manuscript preparation. That combination of bedside experience and structured research training has shaped a patient-centred perspective on health services, workforce conditions and, more recently, an emerging interest in how digital health technologies are evaluated and implemented in care settings. She is now preparing for research-based graduate study, with the goal of contributing rigorous, applied evidence to health services and health-technology research.

Clinical Background
Recovery / Operating Room Nurse
Sadr Hospital · Recovery / Operating Room Unit
As a Recovery and Operating Room nurse at Sadr Hospital, I monitored patients through postoperative and post-anesthesia recovery, tracking pain and respiratory status and supporting safe transfer to subsequent care. This role reinforced my attention to patient safety, infection control and close teamwork within a fast-paced perioperative environment.
NICU Nurse
Adl Hospital · Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
As a NICU nurse at Adl Hospital, I cared for premature and medically vulnerable newborns, closely monitoring respiratory status and vital signs alongside feeding and overall condition. Working within a family-centred model of care, I coordinated with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining strict infection-control practices in a high-acuity neonatal setting.
ICU-OH Nurse
Rajaei Hospital · ICU-OH
As an ICU-OH nurse at Rajaei Hospital, I cared for critically ill patients, monitoring hemodynamic status and vital signs while responding to rapid changes in clinical condition. This role involved working with intensive-care equipment and high-alert medications, and required careful risk management and patient safety within a multidisciplinary care team.
Emergency Department Nurse
Erfan Hospital · Emergency Department
As an Emergency Department nurse at Erfan Hospital, I managed acute and urgent presentations, performing initial assessment and triage-related care under time pressure. My responsibilities included patient monitoring, preparing patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and prioritizing care while communicating clearly with patients and families during rapid decision-making.
Research Journey
Mahya’s research experience developed directly out of clinical practice. As part of a comparative cross-sectional study of nurse job satisfaction, she took part in questionnaire-based data collection, SPSS analysis, and the preparation and interpretation of results tables, before contributing to manuscript preparation. That project, comparing job satisfaction among 286 nurses, including 259 clinical nurses and 27 school nurses, remains her empirical anchor and is currently undergoing final revision before journal submission. Alongside this study, she has developed additional research proposals and literature-based scholarly work, building familiarity with structured, evidence-based approaches to clinical and health-services questions. This process has also exposed her to emerging health-technology topics, including virtual-reality-based symptom management and AI-assisted diagnostic support, sparking a broader, ongoing interest in how such tools are evaluated, tested and responsibly implemented in real clinical settings.
Teaching & Mentoring
Private & Group Tutor / Academic Instructor
Independent Teaching Experience
Beyond clinical and research work, Mahya has provided private and group academic tutoring, supporting students through structured learning plans and exam preparation. This independent teaching experience involved monitoring learner progress over time and adapting instruction to individual needs, developing a learner-centred approach to mentoring and clear, patient communication that continues to inform her academic work.

Academic Goals
Mahya is preparing for research-based graduate study that builds directly on her clinical and research background. She hopes to strengthen her training in epidemiological and quantitative research methods, health-services research and population-level health analysis, while developing a more rigorous foundation in evaluating and implementing health technologies. Patient-centred outcomes remain central to how she approaches this work; she is interested in research that connects clinical realities with measurable improvements in care and health-service delivery. Her longer-term direction is intentionally broad, reflecting an interest in contributing to graduate programs and research groups across health services, digital health and population health, rather than a single narrowly defined project or supervisor.
